Brown County 4-H Clubs

Brown County 4-H Clubs
4-H clubs are the foundation of the 4-H program. These clubs are community based and are open to any youth eligible for 4-H membership, regardless of race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, disability, ancestry, sexual orientation, pregnancy, marital, or parental status. A 4-H club is a group of five or more youth guided by one or more adult volunteer leaders. Youth members serve as officers for the club which must meet on a continuing basis, usually once a month. Club participation is family oriented. Brown County 4-H is home to 17 4-H Clubs.

About Us: We meet the second Monday of the month at 6:30 PM at St. Clare/Greenleaf Parish Hall basement in Greenleaf to conduct club business and to interact and have fun with each other. The 4-H motto is “Learning by Doing” and club members and their families do this in a variety of ways. Community service, project work, and fundraising are the major activities done throughout the year. Members and their families can be seen in the community picking up trash along the highway, working the children’s games at the Greenleaf Fireman’s Picnic, and Christmas Caroling in the community. These are just a few of the community service projects that Greenleaf 4-H Club families have participated in. A yearly Brat Fry helps to fund general expenses, community donations, and educational activities for the club.
In addition to community service and fiscal responsibility, members select projects which interest them. Volunteer project leaders meet with youth and share their knowledge to help youth learn skills for life. Exhibiting this project work at the fair is the highlight of the 4-H year.
Our club is very strong in the animal science and cultural arts project areas-music, drama, and public speaking. We are always looking for adult project leaders who would like to share their special talents with youth. So if you have an interest in joining the club or would like more information about becoming a project leader, please contact Amy Vande Hey or Jean Jack.

Meeting Location: Alleluia Lutheran Church, 6725 Elmro Road, Greenleaf, WI 54126
Club Leader: Angela Wiese, 920-264-3126, angdanwiese@hotmail.com
About Us: Our Statement of Purpose says, “We strongly promote a fun and learning environment for 4-H members. We encourage members to participate and become involved in 4-H activities . . .” This mission has helped guide the Wrightstown 4-H Club which is now in its 62nd year of serving area youth.
Throughout the year, our members participate in Drama Fest, Basketball, Christmas Caroling, Speaking Fest, Music Fest, Community Service Projects, the promotion of June Dairy Month, individual projects, and many other activities. And, of course, the Brown County Fair in August is still the main event each year for our members.
Because of our excellent club project leadership, our members have taken projects as varied as cake decorating, maple syruping, photography, woodworking, crafts, animals, sewing, ceramics, rocketry, and many things in between. While participating in these activities, the members are learning skills that can lead to a rewarding hobby or even a challenging career.
Everyone looks forward to the fun-filled, educational, and rewarding experiences each new 4-H year brings for our members and their families. And “families” is the key word. The Wrightstown 4-H Club stresses family participation in all activities. The family oriented philosophy has guided our club for over a half century and will continue being our focus going forward.
