Pressure canning is a safe way to preserve low-acid vegetables (e.g. green beans, corn, carrots), meats, and most mixtures of foods. It is recommended to test your pressure canning gauge yearly to ensure it’s accurate and in good condition for creating safely-preserved food.

Brown County Extension offers free pressure canner dial gauge testing to help ensure safe and accurate home food preservation. Schedule an appointment using the button below or call 920‑391‑4610. We test National, Magic Seal, Maid of Honor, and Presto pressure canner gauges, helping home canners throughout Green Bay and Brown County preserve food safely and with confidence.

*You only need to bring the gauge or gauge and lid to the appointment.
