Categories of Food Access Resources:

Community Gardens

Community Gardens: Community gardens provide garden space and support to area residents to help them grow affordable, nutritious and culturally appropriate food

EBT Stores

EBT Stores: EBT stores accept EBT benefits. Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) is an electronic system that allows a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participant to pay for food using SNAP benefits. This includes a variety of stores, including convenience stores, dollar stores, grocery stores, specialty food stores, and other stores that sell food to make at home.

Farmers Markets

Farmers Markets: A farmers’ market is a public and recurring group of farmers or their representatives selling the food they produce directly to consumers. Most farmers markets accept EBT.

Food Pantries

Food Pantries: A food pantry is a place where those in need can receive food. Some pantries have criteria or screening processes individuals have to meet prior to receiving food from the pantry. Please access this information by clicking on the pantry’s icon.

Grocery Stores

Groceries stores: Stores that sell a full variety of food products, including fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, dairy, grains, canned and boxed foods.

Cultural Grocery Stores

Cultural Grocery Stores: Cultural or ethnic specialty grocery stores selling ingredients, food, and other goods that relate to traditions, culture, and heritage of community members.

Meal Programs

Meal Programs: Sites that offer meals at a free or reduced cost to individuals meeting their requirements. Please access the meal program’s criteria by clicking on the appropriate icon. 
Note: There is multiple ADRC dining site locations throughout each county. Dates, eligibility, and time vary by location. Call your local county’s ADRC for more information.

The Community Resource Handbook provides contact details for nearly 200 agencies serving Brown County.

Offers public assistance and tribal‑funded support for eligible Oneida Nation members and families.

Provides food and formula vouchers for eligible pregnant or breastfeeding women and children up to age 5, including summer farmers’ market vouchers. Spanish and Hmong translation available. 

USDA’s SUN Programs provide vital nutrition for children during the summer when school meals are not in session.

ACCESS is an online tool that helps individuals see if they may qualify for health, nutrition, and other public assistance programs.
